You know you’re a writer when… you awkwardly search baby name websites for names for your characters.

You know you’re a writer when… you toss and turn at night, stressing over the future of your fictional characters.

You know you’re a writer when… you cringe at cheesy dialogue or plot inconsistencies in mainstream media.

You know you’re a writer when… you consider certain pens, notebooks, and your laptop to be your “babies”.

You know you’re a writer when… everyone you know asks you to proofread or spellcheck for them.

You know you’re a writer when… people comment, “you should write a book!” on your Facebook posts.

You know you’re a writer when… you’ve got a notebook hoarding pile in your room.

You know you’re a writer when… a fresh page is either beautiful or terrifying to you.

You know you’re a writer when… the blinking cursor irritates you because you’re blocked.

You know you’re a writer when… you cry over something you’ve written even if it may not be emotional for someone else.

You know you’re a writer when… you get furious when discovering a proofreading error in a professionally published work.

You know you’re a writer when… pen marks are a common decoration on your writing hand.

You know you’re a writer when… coffee is creative juice.

You know you’re a writer when… songs with repetitive lyrics turn you off.

You know you’re a writer when… you eavesdrop on conversations not to be nosy, but for writing material.

You know you’re a writer when… you admire certain filmmakers solely for their storytelling skills.

You know you’re a writer when… losing a favorite pen/pencil ruins your whole day.

You know you’re a writer when… you have a mini-heart attack when your writing program says “not responding” as you’re in the middle of typing.

You know you’re a writer when… notes… EVERYWHERE!

You know you’re a writer when… your family and friends assume they’re your characters.

You know you’re a writer when… you feel like celebrating after a long writing streak.

You know you’re a writer when… your overactive imagination both scares and amazes you.

You know you’re a writer when… being home alone means acting out your characters’ dialogue aloud… with accents.

You know you’re a writer when… you write better than you talk, and others have pointed it out.

You know you’re a writer when… you know in your heart that you were given this love of writing for a reason and dream of impacting others because of it! ❤

  1. Proofreading errors? Try proof PRINTING errors, such as when the company that printed my first book put in a printing error in Chapter1…as for acting out characters and their accents…ever dream in Geordie?
