Wonderful World of Writing

Writers are Courageous

Good afternoon, Arrowheads! Over the course of my life, I’ve oftentimes felt like Chuckie Finster from Rugrats, having a super long list of things I’m afraid of: talking to people I don’t know well, heights, big dogs, spiders/lizards/snakes, trying new foods, driving in heavy traffic, etc. As you can see, I’ve always been a “‘friady cat” like Chuckie, shying away from things outside my comfort zone. The only outlet in which I’ve ever felt brave (#TommyPicklesStatus) is through writing. But, why are writers courageous?

WritersAreCourageous

Writers are courageous, because we write the things society is afraid to say out loud.

Writers are courageous, because we take battered, broken ideas and incoherent thoughts, and piece them together.

Writers are courageous, because we spill our hearts out onto paper, and then allow the world to see, to face praise or criticism.

Writers are courageous, because we face our own fears through our writing.

Writers are courageous, because we’re willing to fight for some ideas for years, sometimes decades.

Writers are courageous, because we take a financial loss at times in order to chase our dreams.

Writers are courageous, because in the age of technology, we holdfast onto an artform society has been downplaying for years.

Writers are courageous, because we work to shape the minds of future generations.

Writers are courageous, because in an industry of intense competition, we know that building other authors up is more worthwhile than tearing them down.

Writers are courageous, because we fight to be heard through the written word for years to come.

Keep being courageous my fellow writers! You’re amazing, and keep using the gift God gave you! ❤
